"Drawn to the Cleveland's Music Scene" Ralph Solonitz's Solo Show
I'm thrilled to spill the beans about Ralph Solonitz, one of Cleveland's most cherished underground doodlers of the music scene. He hangs out in coffee shops and hops local music gigs, constantly drawing and doodling his surroundings. If it has to be on a napkin, then it's on a napkin, he will capture the moment. It's a real boon for Tara Seibel Art Gallery to be representing Ralph Solonitz and exhibiting his first solo show in Cleveland! Ralph was born in Munich, Germany in 1947, his parents were both Holocaust survivors, and his life experience plays a huge part in his rigorous hand. He harbors deep thoughts about humanity in general, and takes each day as it comes by drawing from within his heart. With support from a wonderful wife Linda Solonitz, Ralph has made a terrific career for himself. A 1970 graduate of Kent State, after dodging National Guard bullets, he went on to successfully start his own graphic design business. Although, still an astute designer, he spends most of his time drawing for an impressive following on facebook. Most works being exhibited are multi-media on paper, some boast splashes of day glow color. The first of a series of three prints (of eighteen total works) are on display.
The subjects include;
Muscle & Bones at Dewey's, Hornes & Things at Shaker Square, Bernie Worell Orchestra at the Beachland Ballroom, Bluecasters at Becky's Bistro, Ed Bridge on Piano at Brother's Lounge, The Boss for Obama's Rally in Parma, The Allen Greene Band at Cebars, and of course random music at the Grog Shop,
just to name a few.
The opening reception will be held at Tara Seibel Gallery (above Presti's Bakery) in Little Italy during the summer art walk (you don't wanna miss this!) Friday, June 7th, at 7:00 till late. Refreshments and good vibes will be served @ 12107 Mayfield Rd, call Tara Seibel for inquiries @ 216/375/0760
